I'm pretty new at digital music in general. My first experience was using Audacity on a Windows pc last year. Then I switched (2004), and now I use ubuntu. My main programs are hydrogen and ardour, running on jack of course. I use gnusound to trim and effect the files afterwards. I have a delta1010 with 8 in/outs. I use an ART voiced valve preamp and a samson co3 condenser mic.
My stuff is pretty basic- kind of pretty. I sing and play guitar over beats or not over beats. I usually have a main beat track, a main guitar/vocal track, and several secondary vocal or guitar tracks. Right now I'm not too interested in going crazy with how cool the computer can be as an instrument itself. I'm using it as a helping tool. It's good for now. I really like ardour. Check some of the music if you wish at shovetopush.tripod.com. I only have a couple up because of storage space. Maybe I'll pay for some space soon. Happy days.
