My name is Ingo Müller and I'm from Germany. I'm studying computer science at the university in Karlsruhe, Germany. I played with linux several times in the last few years, but I never could totally get rid of windows because something was always not working.

When I was trying to build up an HTPC running linux, I spent way too much time to get my sound working. That frustration turned into motivation to make everything better! The first thing I did was transfering most of the content of the old wiki into the new one, a media wiki (see below).

2006-12-21

I am finally done transfering everything to the new wiki! After over 500 pages, I'm really happy about my work. I basicly copied page per page, changing markups from one syntax to the other, keeping the names of the pages, so that old links will continue to work. User pages and special pages have been moved to the according namespaces. I did not copy authors and older versions, because I technically couldn't do it and I think it is unnecessary anyway. You can find older versions with their authors on the old wiki at http//alsa2.opensrc.org.

What I want to do next is adapting pages like FormattingRules and User pages to the new system. And then, well, I'll see how far my motivation is going to take me :-)
