Stuart Allie (Alliecat)
I've just put up remixes of the first 3 songs I placed on allie.opensrc.src, and added a fourth - "Haunted Hope". If you download and listen to any of my pieces, please add comments here, or email me at stuart -dot- allie -at- gmail -dot- com.
Cheers!
Gear to Buy
This is a list (in approximate priority order) of gear I'd like to buy for home recording work over the next 12 months. I'd really appreciate it if people would add comments about the quality, value, and usefulness of the gear listed, or suggest alternatives.
My music is primarily written around the guitar, but I would like to use more keyboard sounds (once I have a keyboard.) I've been happy with softsynths and writing keyboard parts using various tools, but I would like to move to live keybaords soon.

Comments
Marcus Blacksmith 2006-01-18 -- Some nice guitar tunes, man. In regards to your gear wish-list, I have a few comments that might be helpful. Firstly, be aware that the Audiophile 24/96 uses RCA inputs, which aren't balanced. With unbalanced cables that close to a magnetic source (i.e. your computer's power supply), you're bound to get some low level hum and noise on your recordings. M-Audio make some nice gear, but I wouldn't go for anything less than the Delta 44 - which has a breakout box and balanced inputs. Alternatively, you could hunt for a Seasound Solo or Soloist on Ebay, which would be cheaper (and is nicer, too). They are a discontinued product, but they have native support under ALSA, and a group of people at www.byteheaven.net are maintaining windows drivers.
