Try upgrading your ALSA-drivers and/or your kernel. ;)

Alsa is a work in progress and is designed by developers in their "free time" (Many have day jobs). Although many sound cards work as they should, many are still unsupported or partially supported. This is due in part to either a lack of support from hardware manufactures or lack of time. Please be patient and provide support to other users, and by all means don't give up. ;)
